….she was staring out of the window letting her thoughts drift off, letting them pass through her mind like all those people were passing by the window, not noticing her, being so caught up in their own thoughts; rushing past each other, not noticing much around them, hurrying off to a job that puts even more wrinkles on their worried foreheads, she thought and smiled.
apparently, being stressed out by their huge to-do lists, not able to enjoy the sight of the two small birds fighting over a piece of bread up there in the tree. not aware of how the sun was just strong enough to send a few single rays through the clouds, neither of how there seemed to be a round rainbow-colored circle in the sky.
what’s the point? she thought to herself. was the pleasure these people got out of their jobs worth ignoring all those beautiful things life gives us every day?
or were they like so many people she used to know: living for the weekend, waiting all year for that one vacation, not capable of seeing the abundance of opportunities in each and every day?
to her, that was like working all day to build a beautiful home, only to never be able to enjoy living there, for work was taking up most of the days…how very paradox, she thought.
no. she shook her head while savoring another sip of the steaming hot divinely delicious spiced tea; she’d rather spend the rest of her life being misunderstood by the masses than trying to convince them of the happiness they’re missing out on, of the incredible freedom she feels every day getting up, being happy, enjoying the shapes of clouds in the sky, raindrops on her face and the chill of the air, that made the small hairs on her arms stand up straight.
life is too short to waste even one day with doing something where the heart is not involved.
life is too short for doing something where not all senses are active.
life is too short to not be felt in all its vitality, in all its glory, the joy and the sorrows.
life is too short to waste even one day without a true heartfelt smile…
